These rondel couters (elbow cops) are raised from a single piece of heat-treated .050" 1050 medium carbon steel. No welding is utilized in their construction. Due to the use of spring steel, they are exceptionally light, weighing in at a mere 10 ounces each.
These couters are appropriate for early to mid 14th century kits.
These couters are given a subtle point to capture the aesthetic of 14th century couters and also feature flared edges to both strengthen the cop, provide a deflecting edge for practice with metal weapons and to make them far more comfortable to wear and receive blows on.
As you can see by the photos, they are also quite deep and wrap around the elbow rather than merely sitting on it.
They come fully strapped with a pair of 3/16" holes punched at the top for an arming point. Additional holes to permit the addition of other arm harness components can be added at no extra charge.
